The Fairgrounds District Board meeting took place March 23, 2026 at the Alice K. Hoppes African American Pavilion. The master planning team presented Phase 1 recommendations, which added an outdoor sports stadium and critical State Fair improvements to the previous predevelopment plans, which included an 8-acre park, pedestrian safety improvements along San Pedro, and water and sewer infrastructure upgrades. The District Board approved Phase 1 of the Master Plan.
The next Board meeting is scheduled to take place Thursday, May 7.
