The Fairgrounds District Board convened Thursday, October 30 at the African American Performing Arts Center. Nancy Locke, lead for the master planning project, presented an update to the board, including draft predevelopment concepts (CLICK HERE FOR FULL PRESENTATION FROM STANTEC).
The concepts presented today are preliminary scenarios of what our future Fairgrounds could look like, and were shared only to help the Board and community members imagine what is possible. The master plan is expected to be finalized in March of 2026.
The predevelopment plan focuses on enabling infrastructure, increased pedestrian safety, and thoughtful greenspaces to be activated around community desires and needs. We need community input on scenarios that are being developed, so please plan on attending the next community meeting on November 18, 6PM.
The Board reviewed the District Development Plan for Predevelopment Phase B and the Bond Summary and Cash Flow Analysis (CLICK HERE FOR AGENDA AND SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS), approving adoption of Resolution 12, which will unlock bonding in order to begin enabling predevelopment work.
The next Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 11.
